Valley Fest 2016 line up announced

Valley Fest, a family-friendly festival that celebrates music and ethical farming, announced its full musical line up on Tuesday.

The festival, which runs from September 2-4, will feature Bristol favourites The Shimmer Band, folk star Emily Portman, Dutch New Oreleans-style brass band Broken Brass Ensemble and local gypsy jazz group Sheelanagig.

As previously announced, Stereo MC’s will headline the festival. Other formerly-announced performers include Craig Charles, Hannah Williams and The Blockheads.

The event will feature two main music stages, with a third Village Green stage for local bands. The Chew Stage educates festival-goers about ethical food production with chef demonstrations and family-friendly activities.

Though Valley Fest takes place on 100 acres of pristine farmland, the event will also feature urban street art. Over the three days of the festival, artists will turn an abandoned combined harvester into a work of art.
