Review: Rumble in the Jungle, Lakota
Expectations were high for Rumble in the Jungle’s third birthday at Lakota Bristol. However upon entering the venue, the dance was already ram jam and the jungle was certainly rumbling.
You could hear Edinburgh’s finest Electrikal Soundsystem from Stokes Croft. The best looking rig in the United Kingdom stood loud and proud in its entirety and was worshiped by the front row crew of the Main Room & Coroners 1. My set with Unit 137’s Ed West went off. A notable highlight was performing our track ‘See The Vibe’ from 2015 together. The sing along crew out in full force and we defiantly saw the vibe.

It wasn’t long after General Levy’s ‘Incredible’ live PA that D&B royalty DJ Randall took the main room by storm with an hour of dark, chunky, new school rollers. Randall’s ability to get the whole room onside is insane and his set once again proved why he’s my favorite DJ in the scene. Born on Road also came correct with verteran MC’s Spyda, Navigator and David Boomah who shared the microphone smashed their classic bars back to back in a true sound system styley.
Other musical highlights on the night came from Doncaster’s finest export Parly B and local sound system addicts Fat Stash.
12:34 productions delivered an absolute belter of a dance last Friday at Lakota and successfully covered all corners of the spectrum of sound system music. It’s safe to say that I’m already buzzing for their winter edition later this year.
