Zarah Sultana to make special guest appearance at Forwards
Zarah Sultana will make a special guest appearance ahead of the final performances at this year’s Forwards Festival.
The former Labour MP will introduce Nia Archives, who stepped in to replace Doechii as a final night headliner after the American musician pulled out of Forwards days before the festival was due to start.
Sultana is expected to give a brief speech before introducing Nia Archives on the West Stage at 7.20pm on Sunday.
This will come after a panel discussion Sultana was part of earlier in the festival.
Sultana was part of a panel discussion titled ‘The Movement Forward: Pissed off With Politics’, from 4.45-5.30pm on Sunday.

The Movement Forward panel was chaired by Coco Khan, a co-host of the politics podcast Pod Save UK.
Sultana spoke on the panel alongside economist Gary Stevenson and broadcaster Carol Vorderman.
Sultana left the Labour Party in July and has since launched a new left-wing party with former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.
During the panel discussion, Sultana said her decision to leave the Labour Party “wasn’t a difficult decision” and that one of her “red lines” was the party’s handling of austerity.
She also encouraged Forwards attendees living in Bristol to support their local branches of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and ACORN and agreed with Vorderman that proportional representation could be a positive step forward for democracy in Britain.
