South Bristol gets colourful makeover as Upfest 2026 begins

The strokes of paint on unfinished canvases were compelling enough for everyone to stand and watch.

Paints, brushes, Posca pens and other artist tools could be spotted across Tobacco Factory’s garden area on Saturday for the kick-off festivities of Upfest 2026.

Artists painted diligently, oblivious to the fun chaos of chatter and music surrounding them, immersed in a world of creativity. Vinyl records and a wooden shed became canvases for people’s creativity, as they doodled and coloured to their heart’s content.

The creative energies continued on Sunday, with artists adding final touches to their murals across south Bristol.
