Bristol startup’s new cost-effective heating system
A Bristol-based startup is trialling prototypes for a new heating system in city homes in preparation for UK-wide trials and full launch in 2027.
The new heating system from Nusku combines a water cylinder and heat pump with the capability to deliver sustainable heating for Bristol and beyond.
Designed to sit outside the home as one unit, Nusku’s product aims to reduce the price, time-cost and disruption for homeowners when switching from gas boilers.

Nusku’s product will take only a few days to install, greatly improving upon the installation time of current heat pumps, which can take over a week.
This will be especially helpful for residents hoping to replace a broken gas boiler, ensuring that they can return to a warm home much sooner, for much cheaper.
Additionally, the product is set out to reduce energy bills thanks to built-in smart controls which will allow heating to be monitored and controlled remotely.
“The goal from the outset was to remove many of the barriers to adoption currently faced by homeowners, landlords and housing associations,” said Nusku CEO and co-founder, Russell Murchie.
Nusku is preparing the new heating system to support the Government’s Warm Homes Plan, which aims to install 450,000 heat pumps per year by 2030.
