Family-run firm appointed as waste management partner at Ashton Gate
A family-run recycling company has been appointed as the waste management partner for Ashton Gate Stadium and the Bristol Sport Group.
Grundon will support operations at Ashton Gate as well as the Robins and Bears performance centres.
The Bristol firm, with a near-century legacy, will work to improve waste handling, compliance and recycling performance across the sites, in line with the group’s wider sustainability ambitions.
Bristol Sport Group facilities manager Max Wilshaw said: “We are delighted that, after a thorough tender process, Grundon are our new waste management partner.

“Grundon is a highly-respected local company with a near century of experience. They will provide a high level of waste management service across the sporting group’s sites, as well as supporting our sustainability goals to reduce our environmental impact through Project Whitebeam.”
Project Whitebeam is a joint initiative involving Bristol City men and women, Bristol Bears men and women, Bristol Flyers and Ashton Gate Stadium, launched to recognise, measure and reduce the group’s environmental impact.
Grundon is the UK’s largest family-owned supplier of integrated waste management and environmental services, serving around 15,000 clients nationwide, including major sporting venues such as Silverstone, Ascot and Twickenham, as well as Gloucestershire Cricket and Forest Green Rovers.

The firm currently operates sites at St Philip’s Marsh and Bishop’s Cleeve, with plans progressing for a hazardous waste processing facility in Avonmouth.
