Theatre-cum-fashion show brought to you by Gill Loats, DJ at the legendary Dug Out club on Park Row in the late 1970s and early 1980s and now proprietor of the vintage fashion shop recession.
“The Vales, a Bristol family, have music coursing through their veins. When Clifton’s dreams of playing in a Big Band are dashed, his ever-increasing family take up the baton.
“Is it a fashion show, a musical, an episode of Dynasty, the true prequel to Mamma Mia? You’ll only have some idea if you come…..”
“The 18th recession fashion show is being held at the MShed. The theme is Seven Decades of Bristol Music, due to the current exhibition in MShed – and we all know music and fashion go together.”
“Spend the evening trawling through the Bristol music scene in the clothes we wore, from way back when. The recession fashion shows are legendary and sell-outs.
“Bizarre, theatrical, unpredictable, you’ll be laughing your DMs off as you barge into the dressing room after the show.
“The fabulous clothes are for sale as soon as the eclectic troupe of models hide their modesty.
“This is a fun-filled event for girls and boys of the 50s to the 90s and those who wished they were.
Part of the programme around M Shed’s exhibition Bristol Music: Seven Decades of Sound.
8.30pm, but bar and exhibition open beforehand. Unreserved seating. £15/£12 concs.
