‘Remain’ – a celebration of European produce
The Pony & Trap’s menus give prominence to the produce of their immediate surroundings from their own kitchen gardens, the Chew Valley, Somerset, and the wider South West region.
However, for one evening, the Michelin-starred inn is holding a dinner to celebrate the abundance of ingredients that the continent has to offer.
Owner Josh Eggleton says: “I was influenced by European cooking right from the start. I love European culture and I love the produce that we get from the talented producers all over the Continent and that’s what this dinner is aiming to celebrate and give credit to.
“So I wanted to cook a menu which features Pyrenean milk-fed lamb, Iberico pork, shellfish from the South of France, European cheeses. It’ll be a unique evening here as our menus champion local and regional produce but I felt this was something worth highlighting on this date in particular.”
