Malian-French director Daouda Coulibaly‘s feature debut is a powerful thriller set against the backdrop of the years leading up to the Mali coup of 2012. It’s the story of a young man named Ladji (Ibrahim Koma) who lives an impoverished life on the streets of Bamako. Until, that is, he becomes a cocaine trafficker, swiftly ascending the criminal hierarchy until the drug trade moves into Al-Qaeda territory…
