Horror in the Caves: Night of the Demon

Director
Jacques Tourneur
Certificate
PG
Running Time
91 mins

Ever wondered where the sample “It’s in the trees! It’s coming!” from Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love came from? Here’s the answer: based on a M.R. James short story, Jacques Tourneur’s classic 50s chiller pits a rationalist against a sinister mystic. Yes, the Demon is rubbish, but Tourneur was forced to include it by the studio.

It’s back on screen as part of Bristol Film Festival’s ever-popular Halloween Horror in the Caves season down below in spooky ol’ Redcliffe Caves. Go here for more info and to book tickets.
