The King and I from the London Palladium

Director
Bartlett Sher
Certificate
U
Running Time
180 mins

In 1860s Bangkok, the modernist King of Sima hires British schoolteacher Anna to educate his many wives and children. Recorded live at the London Palladium, the Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical casts Kelli O’Hara as Anna opposite Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe‘s King.

Those who aren’t working themselves into a lather of offence over racial stereotyping and ‘cultural appropriation’ may prefer to sing along with the likes of Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, Shall We Dance, etc.
