Old Duke Swing Fest 2019
The much loved Swing Fest returns to The Old Duke for another afternoon of authentic, foot-tapping, jive-talking jazz & swing. Dance your heart out or watch the spectacle. A free event headlined by The Jack Calloway Dance Band in their first return to The Old Duke following their show at The Bristol Old Vic, the festival is ten hours of the best Bristol swing bands.
1:30pm to 3pm Scarlet Muses
4pm to 5:30pm The Peanut Shuffle Club
6:30pm to 8pm JJ Gatsby
9pm to 11pm The Jack Calloway Dance Band
Swing Dance Bristol are offering a workshop that morning ahead of the festival. The first part of the workshop will concentrate on building confidence in social dancing, before moving on to teach the full Tranky Doo routine, one of the popular solo jazz routines you’ll have seen at dance nights. Then go and perform it the same afternoon at The Old Duke Swing Festival.
