Breathing Spaces

Date: Friday, Mar 1 2019 - Wednesday, Mar 6 2019
Venue: Centrespace

Works by Bristol artist TG Freeson.

Breathing Spaces is the beginning of a path: stop, take a breath and think about yourself and your surroundings.

“Through my work I aim to show how objects and subjects interact with their surroundings. All the materials I use – such as rock salt, paper, water, pigments, PVC films – are a metaphor for the simple chemical elements we are made of.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

“All the animate and inanimate beings in our surroundings transform, transfer and refract their shapes and colours by means of physical and chemical changes, but we are not able to see that and understand as for the limits of our senses.

“This is not spiritual or philosophical. It is about physics. These chemical, physical and material relations can be imagined, showed and discussed through art and creativity.”

March 1-6, Centrespace, 11am-5pm. Private view Fri 1 6-8.30pm. For more info, visit www.centrespacegallery.com/?post_type=exhibitions&p=1629 and www.tgfreeson.co.uk
