England convincingly beat New Zealand by seven wickets at the Brightside Ground on Thursday evening in a prelude to the women’s Twenty20 tri-series final on Sunday.
The day in Bristol had begun with New Zealand beating South Africa before New Zealand padded up again to take on the home side in the second double-header.
But the White Ferns’ score of 129 was easily achieved by England with 25 balls to spare, with Sarah Taylor top scoring with 51.
“Very comprehensive and very professional from England, the bowling and fielding was exceptional and it allowed the batters to chase the total down,” said ex-England captain Charlotte Edwards on Test Match Special.
“The experience will stand them in good stead for the final on Sunday – and the World T20.”
