My Bristol Favourites: Ri Meredith

By Martin Booth  Thursday Apr 23, 2020

Ri Meredith is the manager of Convoy Espresso, located in the Paintworks within two converted Airstream caravans.

The UWE Bristol graduate, who lives in Kingsdown, also writes restaurant reviews for Bristol24/7.

Here are Ri’s top-five Bristol favourites:

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Hart’s Bakery

“Seeing a queue come out of the door (usually in the rain) is no rare sighting at Hart’s Bakery. No sausage roll has topped Hart’s yet and I say that with pride. Perfect pastries and a fast-paced, vibrant atmosphere.”

The Hillgrove

The Hillgrove in Kingsdown is one of five Dawkins pubs in Bristol

The Hillgrove has everything you want from a pub. Great beers, walls full of coasters and a cosy garden for those summer evenings. It’s worth the climb up Nine Tree Hill.”

Coffee & Beer

Coffee & Beer on Cotham Hill is one of my favourite coffee shops in Bristol. Minimalist decoration with a far from minimal range of coffees and beers from the very best in the industry. It had become my go-to after work Friday beer stop and I love it.”

Caper & Cure

“A limited menu but by no means simple. Caper & Cure has one of the best brunch in Bristol with top quality dinners and very enjoyable cocktails.”

Tobacco Factory Sunday Market

“How many stalls can you fit in a medium sized courtyard behind an old tobacco factory that is now a bar-cum-theatre? Turns out, a lot. Coffee, pastries, clothes, art, records, antiques, groceries, street food, plants are all on offer at the Tobacco Factory Sunday Market. It’s a great morning out so get ya’self down there once we’re out of lockdown.”
