These are Kyu’s top-five Bristol favourites (read EatDrink24/7 to find a few more):
El Colmado

“Is David Pavon not everyone’s favourite shopkeeper in Bristol? His deli El Colmado on Gloucester Road is filled with an amazing selection of Spanish finds, from cheese to chorizo, olives, beans and biscuits. I can’t leave without an armful of goodies and always manage to find an excuse to pop in.”
Wangs

Turnip cake is Kyu’s favourite dish at Wangs – photo: Wangs
“Sach and Sandy first started doing Wangs pop-ups in a self-built space just down the road from Bokman. We loved to see it! Since then, they’ve brought on board dumpling guru Emily to run the kitchen at their restaurant in Montpelier, and are just getting better and better. My favourite dish is their homemade turnip cakes with house XO, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu – including their signature Taiwanese beef noodles and chilli oil wontons.”
Jeevan Sweets

“Jeevan’s in Easton is our go-to takeaway! Everything is so delicious, wholesome and freshly cooked. My children are obsessed with the legendary samosas. We’re so lucky to have this gem in our neighbourhood.”
Farro

“We’re spoilt for choice with bakeries in Bristol, but Farro on Bond Street gets my vote every time. I’m always impressed at how Brad and his team consistently come up with new seasonal inventions, alongside their brilliant classics and excellent coffee. The panela and bourbon tart is a must-order!”
Marmo

Marmo is one of the most recommended restaurants in 2025’s EatDrink24/7 guide – photo: Marmo
“From the beautiful building to the fantastic produce cooked simply, Cosmo and Lily have hit a sweet spot right in the heart of the city at Marmo on Baldwin Street. The steak tartare is our current favourite, and their wine list is always on point.”
