These are Chris’ top-five Bristol favourites:
Marmo

“Marmo has a special place in my heart and is a long-time favourite. This restaurant on Baldwin Street has a quality, concise menu with food I want to eat and an excellent wine selection as well. A shout out to them too for doing the best steak tartar I’ve ever had!”
Full Court Press

“Doing some of the best specialty coffee in the city. Full Court Press is not only slaying the game as a cafe on Broad Street but as a roastery too. Last year’s Christmas geisha was exquisite.”
Bosco

As well as their original restaurant on Whiteladies Road, Bosco also has a location on Regent Street in Clifton Village, in Bath and in Cheltenham – photo: Bosco
“Consistently excellent and great value for money. Starters and pizza are where they truly excel; and an honourable mention to whoever does the playlists because the music at Bosco is always on point! The OG Whiteladies Road restaurant is my favourite location. Dining at the bar is my happy place.”
Pappu Dosa

Pappu Dosa in Patchway has now been joined by a sister restaurant in Easton – photo: Pappu Dosa
“The Patchway Pappu Dosa is perhaps in one of the most abstract locations I have ever been to for food but that makes the experience rather than taking away from it. Indian food for the soul at a super reasonable price.”
Box-E

“Small and perfectly formed, Box-E in Wapping Wharf serves up beautiful seasonal produce with main portion sizes that’ll actually leave you full and satisfied. Elliot and Tess have created a beautiful thing and know their flavours! Need to book myself in for a great feed!”
