Start the Bus
When it first opened, StB was like an oasis in a testosterone-heavy, chart-dance-deafened desert, populated with uncouth types sporting sovereign rings and a surfeit of max-hold hair gel. It’s a biggish, lazily hip, retro-styled hangout – murals, mis-matched sofas, banquette booths – offering a thoughtful programme of live music and clubby gubbins, including plenty of prescient up ‘n’ coming bookings. Expect anything from hip-hop with live graff to dream-pop and leftfield dance. The American diner-style grub is worth a munch, too.
