Phillip Schofield praises BRI staff
TV host Phillip Schofield has praised staff at the Bristol Royal Infirmary for their “astonishing work” saving the life of his younger brother.
The This Morning presenter has been absent from the show for two weeks since rushing to Bristol where his brother Tim was taken seriously ill.
On his Facebook page yesterday he revealed Tim was now recovering, saying: “To the astonishing team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and our remarkable emergency services. THANK YOU for saving my amazing brother.
“The hardest two weeks of all our lives and you were there for all of us, as you tirelessly fixed him, you sensitively fixed us. I’ve seen the astonishing work of our incredible NHS in action and I’m truly humbled by each and every one of you & what you do. THANK YOU xx.”
His post got thousands of shares and more than 80,000 likes, with many people praising his respect for the NHS. Staff members at the BRI even commented below.
Sue Baggs said: “All the staff at the Bristol Royal Infirmary are amazing, I’m a ward clerk at the BRI and very humbled to work with such amazing staff, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants,clerical staff, house keepers, domestic staff etc they all have a massive part in saving people lives.
“They saved my critically ill mum last year which I’m so grateful for, where would we be without the NHS. Thank you Mr Phillip Schofield for the wonderful positive comments. Wishing your brother a speedy recovery and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas x x x.”
Schofield has not revealed what his brother, seven years his younger, was suffering from.
