Motorcyclist killed in Bath Road collision
A woman in her 40s was killed when her motorbike collided with a van in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police said the driver of the van, which collided with the motorbike near the Three Lamps junction on the A4, has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
The collision has seen the A4 from Three Lamps junction to Bath Bridge closed to traffic as police investigate, causing gridlock across the city.
Police have warned that the road is likely to remain closed until midday.
Motorists should avoid the A4 Bristol Rd after the fatal collision this morning. The rd is likely to remain closed for several hours.

The collision happened at about 5.15am. The victim died as a result of her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the van is in custody, arrested on suspicion causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
Update 11am: Bath Road is no open following the collision.
Update 2.30pm: Police have released further details of the victim.
