Man due in court over centre sex assaults

A man was due in court on Thursday morning charged with two sexual assaults in the centre on Monday.

Mitchell Rudge, 26, from St George, is alleged to have sexually assaulted two women near Old Market.

The assaults led to a warning being issued to employees at businesses close by, asking staff to take extra care when leaving the office.

The first assault was on a 35-year-old woman at Broad Plain at approximately 4.15pm. A second woman, 26 years old, was assaulted in St Matthias Park at 5.30pm.

Rudge was arrested and was due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning.
