‘Die-in’ protest for Gaza staged at Temple Meads
Around 20 people staged a “die in” at Bristol Temple Meads on Sunday morning to “mourn and honour” the civilian lives lost in Gaza, as the war with Israel nears its seventh month.
Protesters laid down around signs that read ‘we are not just numbers’, turning the heads of members of the public milling around the station’s main entrance.
With just their heads showing, they were wrapped in white sheets splattered with red and bunches of flowers laying atop.

The peaceful protest started just before 11am with police keeping an eye but allowing the group to remain.
The protest lasted around an hour with campigners handing out leaflets to the public
The “die-in”, where protesters lie down to simulate being dead, is a form of silent protest that is thought to be first used in the 1960s and 1970s to protest the Vietnam War.
