Crimewatch appeal over unsolved Bristol rape
The victim of an unsolved rape inquiry has spoken out almost a year after she was attacked.
In a fresh appeal to witnesses of the incident just off Park Row last August, the 20-year-old woman said: “I can spend hours at night just sobbing and I’m stuck in these flashbacks.
“It’s completely changed my personality…I don’t think I’m the same person that I was.
“I’m scared of the dark now. I can’t go out by myself and I can’t sit in the car without all the doors being locked.”
CCTV footage showing a man wanted by police in connection with the inquiry was shown on BBC Crimewatch Roadshow on Tuesday.
The victim was sexually assaulted outside Irving House, off Park Row, at about 1.15am on Sunday August 17, 2014.
Det Sgt Jenny Farman appealed for anyone who knows the man in the CCTV footage to come forward.
The man was is wearing a dark coloured shirt with short sleeves and light coloured trousers.
Those with information should call Bristol Investigations via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 and quote ref 84551/14.
