Bristol snow update – Friday afternoon

More snow is expected to fall in Bristol from 3pm on Friday, with two hours of continuous snowfall predicted by some forecasters.

The city – which remains covered by a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice – will get further snow from 8pm until midnight.

  • People are still urged not to travel unless absolutely necessary
  • First Bus have confirmed there will be no buses running at all in Bristol on Friday
  • Train services have been suspended on the Severn Beach line
  • easyJet have cancelled all flights to and from Bristol Airport for the remainder of the day
  • Bristol Hippodrome has been heavily criticised for not cancelling Friday night’s performance of Wicked and not offering refunds to customers unable to make the show
  • Social Media Week Bristol events have been cancelled
  • What The Frock! at the Redgrave Theatre has been cancelled
  • Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday is still due to go ahead on Saturday, thanks to undersoil heating at Ashton Gate
  • The SS Great Britain will be open until 2pm on Friday
