Bristol Open Doors to return in September

By Martin Booth  Wednesday May 12, 2021

Venues, forgotten spaces and special places are invited to be part of the return of the Bristol Open Doors festival.

Organisers welcome applications from everything from boats to bridges, from both pioneering new developments and from community groups with a story to share.

Places of sanctuary are warmly welcomed, including mosques, temples, churches and secret gardens.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Applications from local historians and creatives who could lead a tour and reveal a story of Bristol are also requested; so if you have a story to tell, please get in touch.

Anna Rutherford, director of The Architecture Centre, organisers of Bristol Open Doors, said that they are “inviting the city’s building and special places to open up and share their stories”.

Rutherford said: “Bristol Open Doors is an opportunity for us all to be tourists for the long weekend.

“We’d love to hear from anyone with a space which deserves to be showcased, or from the people of Bristol about places they are curious to see inside!”

Is there somewhere you would love to get inside? Email [email protected].
