Bristol’s status as the best city in the UK outside the capital for eating and drinking has been confirmed by a record 28 entries in The Good Food Guide 2018, including seven new entries.

The guide is compiled by combining reader feedback with anonymous inspections by industry experts.

Bristol’s new entries are:

Box-E, Cargo 1
The Cauldron, St Werburgh’s
Hart’s Bakery, Temple Meads
Paco Tapas, The General
Pasta Loco, Cotham Hill
Pi Shop, The General
Tare, Cargo 2

Casamia was named tenth best restaurant in the UK in the new guide, with chef-patron Peter Sanchez-Iglesias named the UK’s chef of the year.

The Good Food Guide is published by Waitrose on September 4, priced £17.99.
