Je Jean’s is the latest Bristol venture from esteemed Thai chef Jirarat Reis, better known as Jean, founder of the popular Thai takeaway Jean’s Bistro on Gloucester Road.
The new opening marks Jean’s latest venture, following the launch of a Thai minimart next door to Jean’s Bistro and Jinzu, a Japanese takeaway on Gloucester Road that opened in autumn 2024.
Jean and her team are expected to bring their trademark minimalist interiors to the St Michael’s Hill site, keeping the focus firmly on the food.
Located on the corner of St Michael’s Hill and Myrtle Road, Je Jean’s will become neighbours to other food and drink businesses including Chris & Jo’s Kitchen, the Highbury Vaults, Interlude and Tiffins.

The new Thai takeaway is located just a few yards from the University of Bristol’s Arts and Social Science Library
Je Jean’s is expected to open by the end of January 2026.
