New Polish restaurant opens on King Street
Nestled between two of Bristol’s most famous pubs, a new restaurant promises “a glorious twist on some Polish favourites”.
The speciality at Gosha’s House, located on the cobbles of King Street between the Royal Navy Volunteer and the King William Ale House, is pork shank with crunch and crispy crackling.
The shank is finished on a high heat to give it that extra crunch, with diners needing to give two days’ notice if they want to order it.
In what used to be Renato’s second premises, Gosha’s House has been opened by Malgorzata Falkowska (the eponymous Gosha), with former Bristol mayor George Ferguson a co-director of the restaurant.
Served all day are pierogi, traditional Polish dumplings, with fillings including potato, white cheese and onion; pork and apple; and lamb and mint.
There are also several options of zapiekanka open toasted baguettes including mushrooms, onions and melted cheese; and chorizo, jalapeno, piquillo peppers melted cheese.
Served from 6pm each day are slow-cooked beef short ribs; with a selection of beers and cider from Bristol Beer Factory on tap and in bottles, and half a dozen wines all served by the glass or bottle.
