Four Bristol restaurants named in UK’s top 100

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Jun 13, 2017

Four Bristol restaurants have been named in the 2017 National Restaurant Awards.

The prestigious awards honour the UK’s best 100 restaurants, with this year’s top spot being taken for the second year running by The Sportsman in Kent.

Top among the Bristol winners, and the first Bristol restaurant ever to reach the top-10, was Casamia in Redcliffe in sixth place.

And all making their debuts on the list were Cotham restaurant Bulrush at number 29, the Pony & Trap in Chew Magna at 74 and Box-E in Cargo 1 at Wapping Wharf at 85.

Jamie Randall from Adelina Yard on Welsh Back was also highlighted in the ‘chef to watch’ category.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, Casamia’s Peter Sanchez-Iglesias said: “It’s so awesome to see Bristol smashing it at the National Restaurant Awards with Bulrush, Pony & Trap, Box-E and Casamia all getting into the Top 100 and Adelina Yard getting a nomination.

“This makes Bristol the most recognised area outside London, confirming our place on the foodie map.”
