By Martin Booth  Monday Mar 18, 2024

Bristol could be getting yet another crazy golf-themed bar.

Golf Fang want to bring their first venue to Bristol in the former Wilko shop on Union Street, opening their “sprayground” to as late as 2am in the morning some days.

“Our concept combines seriously crazy golf, cocktails, DJs and street food in an art infused environment that showcases the very best street art, its writers and its culture,” says the website of Golf Fang,

Golf Fang have other locations in Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield and Cardiff.

“Golf Fang is a ‘sprayground’ and we provide the graff writers with golf courses built into weird and wonderful designs such as buses, shop fronts, film studios and pubs,” the Golf Fang website continues.

“The list is endless and nothing is off limits. Our venues require a minimum of 12,000 sq ft of space for collective and creative freedom…

“We consider ourselves a Graffiti Cathedral combined with a seriously twisted crazy golf course and cocktail bar.”

Wilko on Union Street closed in October 2023 with the unit remaining closed since then.

Spread over three floors, it is beneath Roxy Lanes which continued the concept of themed bars in Bristol that also include Par 59 on Millennium Parade.

Another licensing application submitted to Bristol City Council shows that Jungle Rumble, Bristol’s original indoor crazy golf venue, could be changing into Treetop Golf.
