Bristol brewery raises more than £1m to fund expansion plans

By Martin Booth  Monday Apr 16, 2018

A Bristol brewery’s ambitious expansion plans have taken a huge step towards becoming reality with more than 1,500 investors helping to raise more than one million pounds.

Left Handed Giant hope to build a brand new brewery at Finzels Reach that will also be accompanied by a bar, event space and restaurant.

Not just any restaurant either but a development kitchen for Michelin-starred restaurant Casamia.

“Since launching our pitch on Crowdcube, over 1,500 investors have helped us to raise £1,068,570 selling 13.16 per cent of our business to people that love our beer and have seen our vision,” said Left Handed Giant founder Bruce Gray.

“We are just blown away by the support, and can’t wait to begin turning Finzels Reach into a destination venue for food and drink in the heart of Bristol.”

Left Handed Giant’s existing brewery in St Philip’s will become a mixed fermentation-specific facility with an extended barrel store, where sours will be developed with ties to Bristol and the South West.
