Almost 18 months after it opened, the team behind Burra has revealed it closing its Gloucester Road site.

In its place, they are opening a new cafe on North Street in Southville in what used to be Farahway which closed in June.

Burra is owned by current Bristol Bears player Jake Heenan and former team mate Luke Morahan, and Bears chief operating officer, Tom Tainton.

“Southville is an amazing hub of independent food and drink and a community we’re extremely excited to join,” said Heenan.

“We will be keeping the same concept as Redland and Gloucester Road – excellent coffee and brunch, high quality table service, all inspired from Antipodean roots.

“Our menu will reflect fresh, seasonal products from local suppliers and our coffee will be provided by Extract in St Werburgh’s.

“We will also look to expand our offering into the evening, as well as continue our dining and wine pairing events which have been very successful in Redland.”

Burra’s new home in BS3 will open on November 12.
