Bristol cafe named among top museum cafes in the UK
The cafe at the Arnolfini has been named among the UK’s best museum cafes in a list compiled by the Guardian.
The newspaper whittled down the top-50 list, which featured the cafe and bar overlooking the Floating Harbour as the only entry from Bristol.
Other museum cafes from the South West to make the list were the Holburne Museum in Bath and Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

The Guardian said that “the cafe bar at the Arnolfini contemporary arts centre feels like the city distilled: colourful with pastel pink and orange walls; eclectic with fairy lights and hanging baskets collapsing from the ceiling alongside paper toadstool shades; and forward-thinking with a sustainable, locally sourced menu”.
“With the air of a noughties dive bar – just a lot cleaner and tidier – Blur and Fontaines DC blast from the speakers as a mix of students, tourists, and a few young professionals tuck into hearty brunches (BLT £9) and simple lunches like cheese and onion toasties (£8), surrounded by gig posters.”
