Massive Attack show sells out in two hours

By Bristol24/7  Friday May 20, 2016

Tickets for Massive Attack’s homecoming gig on the Downs in September have sold out.

Queues stretched hundreds of yards from Idle Hands on Stokes Croft and Bristol Ticket Shop on High Street with fans choosing to buy their tickets in person rather than risking the online lottery.

First in the queue on Stokes Croft at 4.30am was asbestos consultant Ben Holderness from St Paul’s:

Tickets went on sale online at 9am and sold out within the hour while hundreds lined the streets, queuing from 3.30am to grab physical tickets from the Idle Hands record shop in Stokes Croft and Bristol Ticket Shop on Wine Street.

Team Love co-founder Tom Paine said: “We knew the gig would be huge but seeing fans queuing down the street this morning was incredible. We think this might be the fastest selling gig Bristol’s ever seen.

“We’ve been talking about this gig for years with the band and from the way it was received this morning, there’s no doubt the time is right.”
