Family friendly festival returns with permanent site after three year hiatus

By Issy Packer  Thursday Aug 17, 2023

Run of the Mill Festival is back, this time at a new and permanent site at  Oxwick Farm in Wickwar.

The independent festival was founded in 2016 to celebrate the end of summer with live music, good food and tasty drinks.

Since then the festival has grown, moving to a bigger field in Frome in 2017 with a new kids field and a second stage added in 2018.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Run of the Mill then took a break in 2019 and has since been on a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The festival returns with a whole heap of entertainment and local live music for families and friends to enjoy.

Running from August 25 to 27, the weekend event promises kids entertainment such as Lucy Lost-It local entertainer, bouncy castle, face-painting, play space, DJ Grace’s Kids’ Disco and more.

For the adults, there are two days of local live music, DJs and a late night silent disco as well as ayurvedic massage, healing space, power ballad yoga sessions.

This year’s lineup includes headliners Cable Street Collective and Year of the Dog, alongside The Flamenco Thief, The New Cut, The 45s, DJ Retro, Dreamwave and many others.

Festival founder, and A&E nurse, Andrew McMahon says: “We are so pleased to be back and to have made it through the last few years which have been so brutal on the local music and events industry.

“We started the festival as a way to celebrate summer with friends and growing families, together with artists we love and it’s just grown to become an amazing community; 2023 is set to be the best yet.”
