Bristol’s Swimming Girls reach the final of Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition

By Rhys Buchanan  Wednesday Apr 3, 2019

Bristol’s Swimming Girls have made it to the live final of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition.

The local indie pop band initially made it to the longlist of eighty acts which was selected by thirty of the UK’s top music bloggers, before making a final eight which was selected by a team at Worthy Farm.

Later this month on April 27th they’ll perform against the seven other finalists at Pilton Working Men’s Club.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The winner receives a prestigious mainstage slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival along with a £5000 PRS Talent Development prize.

It’s common for Michael and Emily Eavis to make sure that all of the finalists appear on the bill of the festival somewhere.

Former BIMM Bristol student iiola has also reached the live final. The independent artist studied there before heading to London to pursue her music career.

Other names who made it to the final include Che Lingo, LIINES, Marie White, Roma Palace, Shunaji and YAMAYA. You can hear their entries on the playlist above.
