National Trust Screen Season at Tyntesfield

By Robin Askew  Monday Aug 10, 2015

The National Trust and Luna Cinema have joined forces for two outdoor screenings at Tyntesfield in early October. Both of the selected films have strong local connections.

On Friday October 2, you can see Edgar Wright’s cop comedy Hot Fuzz, which was shot on the mean streets of Wells. Doors open at 6.30pm and the screening starts at 7.30pm.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

On Saturday October 3, they’re showing Shaun the Sheep the Movie, which was shot in a glamorous warehouse in Aztec West. Again, doors open at 6.30pm, but this screening commences at 7.15pm.

As the sun goes down, each show will start with a selection of recently digitised local films from the BFI’s archive. These include a journey down the Avon Gorge filmed in 1902, an amateur colour film capturing the devastation wreaked on Bristol by the bombing raids of 1940-41, and a post-war documentary on how the city emerged from the Blitz. See our earlier feature here  for more on these films, which are also available to watch free on the BFI Player.

Tickets for both Tyntesfield screenings are on sale now. Go here for prices and further details.
