Louis Hunter to exhibit sculpture, installation and paper works at 17 Midland Road
Louis Hunter is a mixed-media artist based in Bristol. His new body of work the Magical Universe (MU) spans sculpture, installation and pieces made on paper.
The collection will be shown across two floors at 17 Midland Road in Old Market, in an exhibition running from July 10-15.
“The works utilise a combination of both fabricated elements as well as elements sourced from industrial and machinic processes”, he explains.

“The body of work engages with the complexities of advanced capitalism, not as a fixed or easily defined system, but as a fluid, often elusive force that shapes our realities from the outside.
“The exhibition delves into alternative modes of exploring and interpreting these forces – moving beyond the rational and empirical.
“Drawing upon polytheism, mysticism, and the transcendental function of imagination, the work gestures toward other modes of understanding, offering a space where retro-chronic processes and the intangible play a central role in the decoding of capitalism’s imminence.”
