Banksy to sell t-shirts to raise money ahead of Colston Four trial

By Martin Booth  Saturday Dec 11, 2021

Banksy has designed t-shirts that will be sold to raise money for the defendants in the upcoming trial of the four people accused of toppling the statue of Edward Colston.

The so-called ‘Colston Four’ are due in Bristol Crown Court on Monday for the start of their trial where they are accused of criminal damage.

On Saturday, the t-shirts featuring the empty plinth will go on sale for £25 from locations that will be revealed on the Ujima Radio breakfast show at 9am.

Banksy revealed the news in a post on his Instagram account on Friday evening.

“Next week the four people charged with pulling down Colston’s statue in Bristol are going on trial. I’ve made some souvenir shirts to mark the occasion. Available from various outlets in the city from tomorrow (all proceeds to the defendants so they can go for a pint).”
