Banksy’s ‘Aachoo!’ removed by crane from wall of Totterdown house

By Martin Booth  Friday Mar 12, 2021

Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of art incongruously floated down Vale Street on Friday afternoon.

After weeks of being hidden behind wooden slats, Banksy’s Aachoo! was lifted by a crane from the side of the house on which it had been painted and put on the back of a low loader.

Where the artwork will appear next is a mystery, as is who has already profited from Banksy’s most recent work in his home city.

A team of around half a dozen men, some with cigarettes hanging from their mouths, took part in the operation to remove Aachoo!, which was painted in December 2020.

An extendable arm from the crane parked on Park Street was lowered above the artwork, before the entire section of wall featuring the sneezing woman was slowly lifted up and away.

The steepest residential road in the UK now has a second accolade of once having a Banksy.
