Appeal after Shirehampton daylight stabbing

A man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in broad daylight in Shirehampton.

The 26-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he remains after he was stabbed at around 4.20pm on Friday at the junction of High Street and The Ridge.

Police are appealing for help to trace his attacker who is described as a white man, 5ft 7ins tall, aged in his late 20s and of large build.

He had a scar or tattoo on his left wrist and was wearing dark jogging trousers and an orange T-shirt.

Following the incident, the attacker got into the back of a black Ford Focus which then drove off in the direction of Avonmouth.

A 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5216195665.
