International men’s fashion brand opens flagship outlet

By Milan Perera  Tuesday Apr 21, 2026

An international menswear brand, which is on an expansion drive in the UK, has opened a flagship outlet at Cribbs.

New Zealand-founded fashion label Rodd & Gunn, which traces its roots back some 80 years, has set its sights on the West Country with a 2,563 sq ft store.

Trading in its current iteration since 1987, the brand prides itself on “durability and craftsmanship over trends”, with a focus on natural, biodegradable materials and renewable resources.

Billed as “relaxed, outdoors-influenced lifestyle” clothing, Rodd & Gunn offers a wide range, from classic polos and knitwear to jeans, trousers and button-down shirts.

Lifestyle magazine The Manual went as far as to describe it in the same breath as Lorde and Russell Crowe as a fine success story from New Zealand, which has been expanding in North America over ten years.

The arrival of Rodd & Gunn at Cribbs follows the opening of fellow New Zealand brand AS Colour on Park Street.

However, Rodd & Gunn already enjoyed a strong presence in the region, trading from a concession within John Lewis at Cribbs.

Its success there has now led to the opening of a standalone flagship store, joining established names such as Mango, H&M and River Island, as well as more recent arrivals including AllSaints and Animal.

Cribbs Mall has already seen a boost in trading among its fashion retailers, with growth of 4.5 per cent in 2025.

Sovereign Centros from CBRE, which manages the site on behalf of M&G Real Estate, welcomed the new arrival.

Katie Searle at Sovereign Centros by CBRE said: “Rodd & Gunn’s decision to open a standalone store at Cribbs is a prime example of how we work with exciting new brands entering the UK fashion market.

“From a concession at John Lewis, Rodd & Gunn has become a popular brand amongst our younger shopper audience, so we are delighted to have found them a new space in which they can grow and thrive.

“Rodd & Gunn’s arrival highlights how Cribbs Mall acts as the perfect destination for fashion brands to create flagship stores. Our large catchment area and strong domestic tourism audience allows us to draw in visitors from far and wide eager to explore new fashion offerings and concepts.”

The new flagship store is expected to be boosted by the wider business ecosystem at Cribbs which is home to some 150 shops and restaurants with a catchment area for 6.2m shoppers.
