Cyber security specialist becomes B Corp

By Charlie Watts  Monday Sep 18, 2023

Dial A Geek has announced its certification as a B Corporation (or B Corp).

The managed service provider and cyber security specialist joins other businesses which are already part of the growing group of companies pursuing purpose as well as profit.

B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, has certified Dial A Geek meets the required rigorous social and environmental standards across all of its operations.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

To be certified as a B Corp, a business needs to show evidence of its socially and environmentally responsible approach to governance, its workers, the local community, the environment, and its customers too. It also needs to publicly disclose records of its performance in these areas and be regularly assessed.

Dial A Geek’s founder and self-styled “chief geek” Gildas Jones said: “We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to social and environmental causes, as well as to our current and potential clients, and there was no better, more comprehensive way to do it than B Corp.”

The firm on York Road in Bedminster is now part of a global community of more than 7,000 other B Corps. Over 1,400 of these are in the UK, with brands such as The Guardian and The Body Shop prominent among them.

Founded in 2006 in Jones’ kitchen, Dial A Geek now provides managed IT services for nearly 1,000 businesses in Bristol and the UK.
