Bristol family law firm recruits

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Apr 20, 2021

Stowe Family Law (Stowe) has expanded its legal team in Bristol to support an increase in the number and complexity of new enquiries the firm is seeing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Comparing January – March 2020 to 2021, the firm saw an uplift in enquiries of 143% in the Bristol area compared to a national increase of 83%.

Recently appointed Senior Solicitor Amy Langford joined the firm in March, bringing ten years of family law experience working in Bristol, Somerset and Devon. She is joined by Solicitor Georgina Nelson, whose career in family law spans seven years.

The appointments will further strengthen the Stowe team in South West. With offices based in Bristol, Cheltenham and Cardiff, Amy Langford and Georgina Nelson will work closely with colleagues to support a growing number of clients across the region.

Joining from The Family Law Company, Amy Langford supports clients on all types of family law work, including divorce, complex financial settlements, and child law cases. She specialises in supporting clients in challenging cases involving allegations of domestic abuse and parental alienation.

Georgina Nelson joins from Royds Withy King and has a wealth of experience in a broad range of issues, including divorce, separation, the division of financial assets and child arrangements.

Jemma Slavin, Stowe’s Regional Director for the Midlands, South West & Wales, said:

“As the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we have seen a sharp rise in enquiries. Recruiting Amy and Georgina allows us to maintain the highest support levels for our clients throughout the pandemic and beyond.

With their arrival, we are now an eight-strong team of lawyers working across the South West & Wales, and I am delighted to welcome them both to the firm. Their combined experience in family law and knowledge will complement our existing offering to clients.”

Jemma continues:

“As part of the country’s largest specialist family law firm, we can offer people in the South West & Wales access to an unrivalled nationwide network of knowledge and experience on their doorstep.”
