Volunteer call up for ‘Break Free’ half-term programme
Community of Purpose is calling for volunteers, businesses and community supporters to get involved in its “Break Free” half-term programme.
“Break Free” provides safe and welcoming spaces during school holidays for children and young people receiving free school meals across Bristol.
The volunteers will support staff by helping to set up and run activities, engage with young people, and create a positive and inclusive environment throughout the school holidays.
Organisers are looking for people who can act as encouraging role models while helping children build confidence, make friendships and enjoy new experiences.

The volunteers will help the team at Community of Purpose through a series of activities, including forestry walks and laser tags during May half-term between May 26 to 29.
The Break Free initiative aims to support children and young people during the school holidays, when many families can struggle with food costs and access to activities.
The programme offers nutritious meals, structured activities and opportunities for young people to socialise in a supportive setting.

The charity is also encouraging local businesses and individuals to get involved through donations, practical support, workshops or by sharing specialist skills that could enrich the sessions.
Organisers said every contribution, whether helping to serve meals, supporting activities behind the scenes or leading workshops, can make a lasting difference to young people across the region.
