National Friendly raises over £500 for Bristol Autism Support with 100km challenge
National Friendly demonstrated their commitment to community and charity this week by successfully completing a 100km challenge in support of Bristol Autism Support. On Tuesday February 20, over 30 National Friendly employees took to Queen Square, walking and running tirelessly from 9am to 3pm.
Surpassing their initial target, the dedicated team covered an impressive total of 150km throughout the day. The event garnered tremendous support, raising over £500 through generous sponsorships and donations. Neil Thomson, Product Manager at National Friendly, expressed his delight, having personally run 10km during the challenge. He shared, “I was absolutely delighted with how the day went. We had over 30 staff members take part, and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the day.”
National Friendly’s support for Bristol Autism Support goes beyond this event, with a total contribution of over £3,290 since March 2023. Operations manager Louise Mills and fundraising and events co-ordinator Laura McFadden from Bristol Autism Support joined the event to cheer on the participants and engage with the public. This initiative not only raised funds but also increased awareness for Bristol Autism Support, recognised for its outstanding support, advice, and information to parents and carers of autistic children in Bristol.
