Circular economy experts come together at UWE Bristol event
UWE Bristol will bring together leading voices in Bristol’s circular economy for its latest Bristol Distinguished Address Series event, highlighting how grassroots initiatives are helping tackle waste, strengthen communities and respond to the cost-of-living crisis.
The free hybrid event, Waste to Worth: The Power of Repair Sharing and Reuse in Bristol, will take place at the Watershed and online on April 29.
The event will explore how approaches such as repair cafes, sharing schemes, composting and food redistribution can build practical skills, cut waste and support vulnerable households.
Hosted by UWE Bristol academic Laura Fogg-Rogers, the panel will feature representatives from organisations including Share Bristol, Heart of BS13 and FareShare South West, focusing on both the city’s existing successes and future opportunities for a more sustainable, connected Bristol.
The event also reflects UWE Bristol’s wider commitment to the circular economy, including its community Repair Cafe initiative, and will include a Q&A and networking session for attendees.
