Barcan+Kirby celebrates a decade of legal excellence

By Milan Perera  Friday Apr 4, 2025

Bristol-based law firm Barcan+Kirby has marked a special milestone this April as it completed 10 years in Bristol’s legal scene.

Having merged with Barcan Woodward and Kirby Simcox in 2015, Barcan+Kirby has evolved into a well-respected name in the legal community in Bristol and beyond, and this year, they are marking a decade of success, growth, and community engagement with a series of events.

To kick off the birthday celebrations, the firm’s staff and local businesses in the areas surrounding its five offices were treated to a special surprise on April 1: cupcakes.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

In line with their strong community values, staff members went the extra mile, personally delivering boxes of cupcakes to local businesses, ensuring that the community could partake in the celebration.

Looking ahead, the firm will host a birthday party in May, where colleagues, clients, and friends of Barcan+Kirby will come together to celebrate a decade of impressive achievements. The event will offer a chance to reflect on the firm’s growth, the dedication of its team, and the commitment to providing high-quality legal services to clients across the region.

June will bring even more celebrations with an internal party at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. This event will be especially memorable, as it coincides with the firm’s new leadership structure following the retirement of Bill Willcocks in March.

“We’re overjoyed to be celebrating 10 years of Barcan+Kirby. Our long-term vision is to continue organic growth across our personal and business teams, with a strong focus on expanding and strengthening our Commercial division,” said Anna Wilson, new managing partner at Barcan+Kirby

Anna Wilson has stepped into the role of managing partner, with Richard Harries taking on the position of senior partner. The internal celebration will serve as a momentous occasion to mark the firm’s new partnership while also honouring the firm’s continued success and ambition for the future.

Anna Wilson, the firm’s newly appointed managing partner, said: “We’re overjoyed to be celebrating 10 years of Barcan+Kirby. Our long-term vision is to continue organic growth across our personal and business teams, with a strong focus on expanding and strengthening our Commercial division.

“We believe there has long been a gap in the Bristol market for accessible, affordable legal support for small and medium-sized businesses. We now have a fantastic team in place and are committed to providing expert advice without the hefty price tag of a huge national law firm.”
