Sleeping Dogs

Director
Roger Donaldson
Certificate

Running Time
107 mins

The young, fresh-faced Sam Neill stars in Roger Donaldson‘s little-seen 1977 feature debut: a political thriller in which New Zealand turns into a fascist police state following a series of violent industrial disputes. Neill’s character finds himself framed as a revolutionary conspirator as he’s caught between the two warring sides.

Credited as the film that kicked off the new wave of New Zealand cinema, it’s the Cube’s annual Waitangi Day screening. Proof of NZ-ness gets you discounted entry.
