Donald (Gabriel Byrne) is a loyal, taciturn chauffeur who works for Yorkshire-based American billionaire Demi (a blink and you’ll miss him Harvey Keitel). When Demi croaks unexpectedly, trusty Donald finds he’s been left one final task: clearing up all evidence of the tycoon’s adultery with young Muslim woman Amber (Sibylla Deen). This proves to be more of a challenge than he anticipates as he finds himself drawn in to Bradford’s seedy underworld.
First-time director Mitu Misra‘s cross-cultural thriller promises a fascinating twist on the genre, but reviews have not been kind, with wooden performances and clumsy dialogue shouldering much of the blame.
